Game of Thrones: Interview with Michelle Fairley

Michelle Fairley speaks enthusiastically about her role in the interview of Catelyn Stark from the U.S. series Game of Thrones season 2 dvd, their work and the re-casting for the pilot episode. It turns out it also as a connoisseur and admirer of the book series.
You are an actress from Northern Ireland. How's that for you to discover a kind of international production at your front door?

This happens very rarely actually (laughs). My scenes were filmed in the series for the most part in Northern Ireland and it is wonderful to go home and visit my parents. It is great as have taken the makers of "Game of Thrones," the North, to portray the environment of the Starks. There, the character of Catelyn Stark has spent most of her life, although she does not come from the north. However, she feels good and it is important that it is transported.
You know very well know about your character. Have you read the books?

Yes, of course. I was captivated by the story of the first volume completely and it is well known, what are these huge tomes (laughs). Since then I had a feeling it would be almost too much information for my game, so now I only read the respective band per season. This works any better for me because the story is even closer to me then. Now it is almost more difficult, however, because David and Dan (the showrunner of the series David Benioff and DB Weiss - editor's note) even more often remove some of the original.from www.dvdseriesonline.com
